Dear District 75 Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!
It was with great excitement that we all greeted new and returning students and their families during the first week of school and at our Back-to-School Event at the Jacob Javits Center on September 6th. Our students and school communities have successfully completed our first four weeks of school!
This year, the district will continue our focus on strengthening and prioritizing students' academic and personal growth. We are committed to providing a rigorous and equitable educational experience for every child, in alignment with our District 75 C.A.R.E.S priorities: Customized Access, Rigorous Expectations, and Safety.
We encourage students to approach this year with curiosity and determination through an asset-based literacy learning and problem-solving lens across all instructional subjects and explorations. When students feel seen, valued, and connected, they are best equipped to take on challenges, build resilience, and discover their full potential.
Our schools are dedicated to providing safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where every student feels a strong sense of belonging. We will continue to build on social and emotional support systems and foster respectful, productive communication among all members of the community.
We understand that a successful future varies for each student. Our mission is to honor and empower each student's journey. Our schools are committed to providing students with vocational and career exploration from an early age.
Work-based learning experiences will be integrated into the curriculum across all grade levels to help students connect their learning to real-world applications and encourage exploration of future possibilities.
We are committed to the deeper development and expansion of work-based learning (WBL) experiences for high school students. Partnerships with local businesses and industries will be expanded to provide more students with supervised, real-world experiences. These experiences will allow students to apply classroom learning in a professional setting and build critical workplace skills.
Family partnerships are also essential to the success of our school communities. Families are encouraged to discuss their child's interests and aspirations and take an active role in exploring available possibilities. The opportunities this new school year holds for students are truly exciting and limitless.
Thank you for your support and for entrusting our District 75 community with your child's education.
We wish all students and families a safe and successful 2025-2026 school year!
Respectfully,
Ketler Louissaint
Superintendent
