Who We Are
DIAL is a specialized team within District 75, dedicated to designing, implementing, and supporting innovative programs, services, and tools that center the needs of students with significant disabilities. We partner with schools, families, and communities to promote inclusive practices and accessible learning pathways across all settings.
What We Do
Inclusive Education Support
We support schools in creating inclusive classrooms where students with and without disabilities learn together. Our team provides:
- Inclusive curriculum development
- Co-teaching and collaborative planning strategies
- Professional development for educators
- Support for culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy (CR-SP)
Accessibility Services
We ensure that all students have equitable access to instruction and school life through:
- Assistive technology and device integration
- Accessible instructional materials
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies
- Digital and physical environment accessibility audits
Family & Community Engagement
We believe in strong partnerships with families and communities. DIAL offers:
- Workshops and training for parents and caregivers
- Multilingual and culturally responsive resources
- Support navigating services and IEP processes
- Community-based learning opportunities
Student-Centered Initiatives
We develop programs that focus on the unique strengths, voices, and interests of our students, including:
- Student-led IEPs
- Self-advocacy and transition planning
