Welcome District 75 Staff and Families!
Before we introduce ourselves, the Citywide Council for District 75 (CCD75) hope everyone has had a safe, joyful, and restful summer. Also, a smooth and happy start back-to-school in the new school year.
We, the Citywide Council for District 75 is a parent elected body voted in by parents/guardians of the district 75 community. The organization is represented by 9-selected members who are D75 parents who currently have a child(ren) attending a D75 program(s) and 2-appointed members by the NYC Public Advocate office. Also, a student non-voting member who is a current senior sit on the board.
We advise the NYC Chancellor of the Department of Education, the Division of Special Education and Instructions, District 75 Citywide Programs, and the multiple departments that serve our students with disabilities, multilingual learners, temporary-housing and foster students in District 75. On behalf of our constituents, we ensure voice, transparency, and accountability are always accessible and visible to all stakeholders from city, state, and federal.
Every month of the school year we hold public general and committee meetings that allow all of our school leaders, educators, students, and families to attend, participate, engage, and be empowered to receive guidance, resources, and all updated educational policies. We consult with the wider-community parents with academic and instructional recommendations and open the floor to all public attendees to comment to the superintendent on educational issues. We distribute an annual report that reflects all of the recommendations given by council members and the wider-community. We, also host events in partnership with the district and school communities to ensure all of our families have the opportunity to learn, give feedback, and ask questions. We also extend our organization in collaboration with other advocacy and community organizations that support students with disabilities. Our meetings and events are either in-person or fully virtual and we are trying our very best to make sure there are components of hybrid available if possible.
As representatives of the district 75 community who receives special education services like student transportation, related services, classroom instruction, inclusion-program services, transitional services, college-workforce opportunities, adaptive living skills (ADL), and more, we act on our responsibilities to hold the NYC DOE accountable and compliant to all student IEPs and 504 accommodations. We also support the community with the extension of safety, nutrition, mental health, and wellness.

We wish everyone the best and a very successful school year. Let’s pave the way to a brighter and bold future for our District 75 students, they deserve the best after all of the challenges they have faced during the pandemic.
