Helen Kaufman

Administrative – Assistant Superintendent

Helen Kaufman was born and raised in New York City. After completing her BS degree in Speech / Language Therapy from NYU, she began working for the NYC Department of Education as a Teacher of Speech Improvement. During her tenure with the DOE she has held positions as the Chapter I Coordinator, Supervisor of Special Education, Director of Operations, Director of Speech Services and is currently serving as the District 75 Administrative Assistant Superintendent for Clinical and Support Services. She supports a staff of twenty-one Supervisors and Directors of Clinical and Related Services who in turn provide on-site supervision to the hundreds of teachers and therapists serving our moderate to severe population of students. Helen appreciates the energy of New York City and enjoys reading and the many cultural opportunities that it affords.
